About Fibromyalgia Help

Hi, Cindy,  I was catching up on reading your posts.  How are you doing?  I know what you mean about the weather changing.  For a few days our weather was nice (in the high 30's and even hit 40), then it dropped to below 0.  There isn't much I can do when it is that cold.  Hopefully spring will arrive here soon and God willing I will be healed enough to move.

I used to live in Wichita Falls, TX. I know how erratic the weather in OK can get.....  Actually I lived in a small town by the Red River(?) Burkburnette.

Did your cousin help you with a small loan?  I know what it is like to feel like you are drowning and wondering why?  It is not a good feeling.  I too am on disability for fibro and severe PTSD.

If I may suggest Hanks55 Aid page has a lot of information. If you go to his web page, he lists organizations that help people.  They are on the right side at the top.  Granted Wishes and Modest Needs are two very good ones.

Well, I need to rest.  My prayers are with you.

About Jasmine56

Hi, Toks,

Thank you for the nice compliment.  I know what it is like to need help.  And sometimes I run across web sites that I think would help people.  Hanks55 has the best help list I have seen, and I know that took a lot of time to do.

I spoke to a lady at Granted Wishes today.  She told me that when they have turned people down for their granted wish, they all to often get either nasty phone calls or letters.  There is no reason for that.  I was taught that you count you blessings for what you have.

Sorry it took so long to write, I had surgery on my knee this last weekend.  For some reason the pain pills they gave me keep me awake instead of letting me sleep

Did any of those web sites help you?  I hope so. I got my private pilots license three yrs. ago.  But, my son in law who is in the Air Force, also has a flight school for pilots in the Air Force.  Anyways, he taught me to fly and then I became his 'emergency' training pilot.

Well, I think I am going to sign off for now.

Hi, Toks,  No, no, no  I am by no means a professional on this web site.  There are a lot of other people that know much more than I do.

I wish I could do something to help, but the only thing I can do is tell you to use a search engine and put words similar to this:   financial aid for pilot training.

I did notice that there were quite a few listings, but couldn't get through all of them.  I sincerely wish you all the luck in the world on your chosen career.

That is great that you teach.  PLEASE send some warm weather this way.  Last night it went down to 8 below.  This morning I had to crawl off the recliner I hurt so bad.

Do you happen to have Reynauds Syndrome?  I have Reynauds and I couldn't imagine have arthritus too.  They hurt but not that bad. And fortunately I have never had a bout where both flared up at the same time.

Yeah, I have had doctors tell me that I couldn't hurt as bad as 'all that'?  Dumb a##.  Then I have had them tell me that too many people complained of the same symptoms, so THEY 'had to give it a name'.  Those are the doctors you just pray that they pass a huge gall stone.

Hope you had a wonderful day.

Cindy, Your poor daughter.  At 19--she was still a baby herself, what an awful thing for her to have to go through.  I am so sorry for that.  I can not remember the last time I had a full 6 hours of sleep, with out disruptions.

Yeah, I walked on concrete most of the time (in jump boots of all things) 8-16 hours a day.  Then I had a 30 min. boat ride to the main land.  I started working 12-8 shift for the first year, then moved to swing shift for 11 yrs. Two years before I became disabled, I finally got to first shift.  But,  I did a lot of over time.  Concrete doesn't help fibro.

My very first camping trip was to the Land between the lakes, on the border of TN/KY. I was up at the stables for about a week.  Thats when I got bit by the tick.

I have been reading as much as I can on Fibro/CFDIS.  I think the most frustrating part is when my hands hurt.  I like keeping busy and from what everyone says excercise helps with the fibro.  But, darn there are just days when getting up from a chair is just too much.

Well, I am really glad you started this post.  I would like to know what some of the others have to say also about their symptoms, drs., spec., etc.

About Fibromyalgia Help

Hi, Cindy,  When I was first diagnosed with Fibro, I was 43 yo.  I didn't know what it was and after reading about it, I though it was just age along with my job.  At the time my job was extremely physical and definately hair raising at times.

I am on disability mainly for severe PTSD with a side of Fibro.  I also contracted Lymes 2 yrs. ago and I have COPD-emphysema.  I can honestly tell the difference between the Lymes and Fibro--and God help me when they work in concert to one another.  Oh then add a slice of migraine in the mix and there are days when the pain is so severe I wish I would just die.

You have had it to the point you can feel your hair folicle move??

It is a terrible thing and you were so young to have had it that severe.  I'll talk to you more, my little one (a min pin) is yelling at me.

Hi, Kristina,

Go to Hanks55 aid page.  He has a list of charities, foundations, grants that you can access.  He has a great web site. Check particularly to www.modestneeds.org.  I have spoke with these people and they are wonderful. Their phone #415-956-9395.  It may be quicker to speak with them.

Call a HUD counselor (800-569-4287), tell them you have 2 babies and were forced out of your home.  I checked into TX and they do have Emergency Rental Help available.  As for utilities and help here is the web site: wwwllihap.ncat.org/profiles/Texas.html.

Also check TANF : http://www.hhsc.state.tx.us/Help/Financial/Temporary_Assistance.html

They provide financial assistance.

I know how difficult it is to raise children on your own.

There are many more sites that may  help.  Search for womens grants, womens financial aid, international grants for women.

 Hope this helps.

About Government Loans

Why does the government only loan to businesses or Organizations?  Am I not looking in the right directory?  I understand that these do not help individual people? Thank God they at least help people with school.

It is disheartening when our government will give an extrodinary amount of money to big businesses and they spend it on jets for their corporate people or for vacations.  The auto industry admits that they spent over $60000 a year on employess that did not work.  They got their bailout/loan and still layed off 2000 people.

I could live off the interest for a year on what some of these VIP's make in a month.

Does anyone know of any Government Grants/Private Organizations that loan money for relocation?  I am disabled and trying to leave an abusive relationship.  I am on SSD, but it is not that much.  I have a small window of opportunity on the 4th.
